Miami Beach

One of the most popular vacation destinations in Florida and definitely a great place to spend a weekend, Miami Beach offers a variety of attractions and activities. Go shopping at the Miami Design District where you will find designer brands like Celine and Marni. You can take a long walk on the Miami Beach Boardwalk and later visit the famous Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. If you are impressed with art deco architecture, head out to the Art Deco Historic District to explore all the cool buildings.

Where to Eat?
In case you are in the mood for some Italian specialties, make sure to check out the Pane & Vino Restaurant. They serve tasty pizza and have an extensive wine list. Otentic Fresh Food Restaurant prepared the best filet mignon ever and focuses on French cuisine. For a unique Southern experience, go for dinner at Yardbird. I saw that Anthony Bourdain show and he came to eat here. Smoked Backyard BBQ Chicken and St Louis Style Pork Ribs are both delicious, while Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken melts in your mouth.
Sarasota

Home to attractions such as Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium and Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Sarasota is a perfect road trip destination. Go to Siesta Beach to relax in the sun and visit the famous Ringling where you can take a tour that features a walk through the garden or roses, stories about the tented circus, and views of paintings and sculptures. Check out the Florida Studio Theatre and explore the Sarasota Farmers Market on the weekends.

You probably won't stay hungry in Sarasota thanks to a number of awesome restaurants. If you are into seafood, make a reservation at KaCey's Seafood and More. The lobster here is super delicious. You can also go for lunch to Selva Grill, a Peruvian joint that is famous for its traditional ceviche. Palermo Pizza is one of the most popular restaurants here in Sarasota and dishes like Johnny's Tomato Pie, House Stromboli Pizza, and Meatball Parmesan are amazing.
St. Augustine

When in St. Augustine, make sure to go and explore Castillo de San Marcos. There is a guided tour available where you will get to hear everything there is to know about its history. The views of Matanzas Bay are also quite spectacular. Some of the other highlights in St. Augustine where you can spend the day include St. Augustine Wild Reserve, Alligator Farm Zoological Park, St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, and The Lightner Museum. If you want to go shopping, buckle up and take a short ride to the St. Augustine Premium Outlets.

Where to Eat?
You will probably get hungry after a long road trip and hours spent on sightseeing, so it's time to get some food. The Back 40 Urban Café is one of the best joints in the city and their wet burritos, thai chicken, and Cajun shrimp are delicious. For dinner, go to Michael's Tasting Room where you can try some of the best-marinated mussels you ever had. They also have live music performances over the weekends. If you are into BBQ dishes, make sure to stop by Mojo Old City BBQ. Try the pulled pork shoulder, smoked turkey breasts, and buttermilk fried chicken. This place has a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails.

Explore the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory and go on a tour of the famous Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. Key West Island Bookstore has an impressive collection of books and you can literally spend hours here. If you are interested in wildlife and nature, don't forget to go to the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. Head out to Duval Street where you will find a number of shops and restaurants. Pub crawls are quite popular here at Duval Street.

In the morning, go have breakfast at the Blue Heaven. The interior is nice and they serve the best homemade pancakes with blueberry and banana. For Caribbean cuisine, it's best to check out the Bien Restaurant. Roast pork with black beans and rice are to die for, while scallops are super fresh and tasty. If you are in the mood for some pizza and maybe even ice cream, go to Duetto Pizza and Gelato. They have a couple of vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu.
Tampa

With its superb food scene and wildlife areas, Tampa is one of the best options for road trips in Florida. A tour of the Cigar City Brewing is for everyone who wants to learn how people make beer, while art lovers will be happy to visit the Tampa Museum of Art. Go and catch a show at the Tampa Theatre and check out the Big Cat Rescue, which is one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Some of the other attractions in Tampa worth visiting include Busch Gardens, Lettuce Lake Regional Park, and Tampa Riverwalk.

If there is a dish that Tampa is famous for, then it's definitely the Cuban sandwich. There is even an annual sandwich festival here. Travelers who are into steaks and BBQ dishes should definitely go to Bern's Steak House. They also have an extensive wine list. For the best pizza in Tampa, you don't need to search far as Eddie & Sam's NY Pizza is located in the heart of downtown Tampa. Spinach Alfredo pizza is delicious and they also serve gelato.
