Top US Cities to Visit in 2017

It's not that easy to make a list of top US cities that are worth visiting this year, as there are many cool places that have put themselves out there on the map in 2017. Luckily, all the necessary information was gathered and the results came back. Here is a list of best US cities to travel to this year.
Cincinnati, Ohio
Cincinnati has changed a lot over the recent years and has become a hotspot for a number of tech companies. Today, it's a city where filmmakers love to shoot movies because of the Art Deco buildings and Hollywood actors like Ellen Page and Nicole Kidman have been staying in the beautiful 21C Museum Hotel. The city's Music Hall opened up its doors again after some time and Blink Cincinnati light and art festival attracts hundreds of visitors each year. Although Cincinnati was not a touristy place 20 years ago, today, it is definitely worth visiting.
Atlanta, Georgia
There are two reasons why Atlanta has made its way to the list of top US cities to visit in 2017. The first reason is the opening of the new stadium in 2017which will lead the first Major League Soccer team to the city, and the second reason is that shows like the Walking Dead and Atlanta were filmed here. Of course, Atlanta is home to many new hipster pubs and high-end restaurants where world-known chefs prepare delicious meals. It is definitely not just a place where you should spend a couple of hours while waiting for a layover.
Denver, Colorado
Just by having a brewery on practically every street in the city, Denver has earned the privilege to be one of the must-visit cities in the country in 2017. Okay, it's not all about the beer and there is so much to do here including a visit to the cool and arty districts like Lower Highlands and River North. Check out the food market halls spread across the city or see the new Ski Train which brought back skiers to Denver. The music scene is also on the rise here and there are plenty of live performances from local bands and famous musicians who are on the road.
St. Augustine, Florida
Did you know that St. Augustine is the oldest city in all of North America? Today, this city is a great place to visit, especially if you are on a tight budget. For instance, flight tickets to St. Augustine from other cities in the country are usually cheaper than tickets to popular places like Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The hotel rooms are also quite affordable, especially when we compare prices for accommodation in Miami. Some of the main attractions that you should check out while visiting St. Augustine include the Lightner Museum, the Old City, St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, and Anastasia State Park.
San Francisco, California
Full of vibrant and colorful quarters, San Francisco is still one of the greatest cities in the States. With its beautiful landmarks and a taste for innovative cuisine, the Fog City had easily made its way to our list of top US cities to visit in 2017. Take a walk along the Marian, be a real tourist and take a ride on a cable car, or go on a tour of Alcatraz. There is no shortage of things to do in San Francisco and this is one of the reasons why it attracts so many tourists yearly. There are also a number of nightlife venues where you can go out dancing or see a band you like. Don't forget to take a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge and explore the Fisherman's Wharf area.
Las Vegas, Nevada
It would be quite strange if Las Vegas was not one of the top cities to visit in the US. Besides being a weekend getaway for all those who love to party and gamble, Las Vegas will finally get a Hockey team that will compete at the T-Mobile Arena in 2017. Not that it will expand the number of tourists who are coming to Vegas, but they will get to see some ice skating beside rolling the dice. One of the most underrated activities here is definitely a visit to the ski resort at Lee Canyon. The truth is that booking a ski vacation here can be quite cheaper than in more popular resort towns in the country.
New York City, New York
New York City is the most populous city in North America and has so many landmarks and attractions that it usually takes weeks just to check out the most famous ones including the Central Park, Museum of Art, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and many others. In addition to classic sightseeing spots, the Big Apple is also famous for its thriving dining scene, indie boutiques, music venues, art galleries, and shopping centers.
Chicago, Illinois
The third-largest city in the US, Chicago is well-known for its art scene, restaurants, shopping districts, and a number of new pubs that are opening almost every week. The Windy City offers plenty of activities such as taking a long walk through Millennium Park, going on a Chicago Architecture River Cruise, and going to Willis Tower's Skydeck Chicago for amazing views of the city. You should also check out the Field Museum of Natural History, explore the Shedd Aquarium, and interact with animals at the Brookfield Zoo.
Portland, Oregon
What's new in Portland and is it still a hipster capital of America? To answer the first question, we needed to go to the Portland's Bull Run Distillery that has finally revealed its new product also known as Bull Run Cask-Strength Single Malt Whiskey. This whiskey has been aged for almost five years and the results are fantastic with a touch of fruitiness and a smoky caramel flavor. What else is new, you ask? Well, famous chefs like Doug Adams and Chris Consentino are opening up new restaurants that will definitely put Portland on the list of must-visit cities in 2017.
